When I planned Sophia’s Swan Lake birthday party I knew I had to make these swan lake DIY party straws!
My versions of these straws slightly differ from the ones I spotted on Pinterest but I’m really happy with how they turned out!
Hot glue gun
White pipe cleaners
Small white feathers
Small polystyrene balls
Small screw driver
Paintbrush for gluing on glitter
To start carefully poke a hole through the polystyrene ball with a small screw driver (about the width of the straws)
Place the straws through the holes of the balls almost half way down the straw
Shape the pipe cleaners into a S shape
Trim the end of the pipe cleaner and poke another hole 2/3’s of the way down the ball and insert the pipe cleaner
Trim the feathers back with scissors so they proportional to the balls
Glue the feather on the ball horizontally with the glue gun
Then glue another feather pointing upwards, then repeat on the opposite side
With a paint brush add some PVA glue to the end of the feathers where they were glued on, then sprinkle with silver glitter
I served the girls lemonade with these pretty swan lake straws in our quilted jars!
There are so many variations you could do to theme it your party!
If you give these a go, we would love to see!
